When they find themselves in possession of a suitcase of cocaine they head to Hollywood to sell it, with the mob and police close behind! Written by Quentin Tarantino and directed by Tony Scott, True Romance is a love story and violent thriller featuring an incredible cast that includes Gary Oldman, Dennis Hopper, Christopher Walken, Brad Pitt, James Gandolfini and the late Tom Sizemore.

STEALING, CHEATING, KILLING. WHO SAID ROMANCE WAS DEAD?

Leicester Film Club is a pop up cinema night screening cult, horror and classic movies. Started in summer of 2022 by Nathan Leverton (owner of martial arts school Leicester Shootfighters and organiser of popular events such as Leicester Horror Con and Challenge Charity Boxing) it aims connect local film fans and show offbeat titles in opposition to current mainstream cinema. Recent films shown include Green Room (2015), Commando (1985), The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975) and Harold and Maude (1971).

Nathan said “Some of our most memorable film experiences are communal one. We remember the places we saw films and who we were with. Maybe we were on a date, with friends, or bonded with strangers laughing, crying, or jumping at scares. Leicester Film Club is a chance to ditch watching a film on your phone and streaming services for a night to return to the magic of a communal viewing experience.”

Tickets can be purchased in advance via EventBrite for £4.50 (or £6 on the door if not sold out) https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/594743994297

Dressing to impress in your best True Romance and 90s inspired outfits is very much encouraged!
