Leicester Film Club: Clueless (1995)

SEX. CLOTHES. POPULARITY. IS THERE A PROBLEM HERE?

Written and directed by Amy Heckerling, Clueless has become a true 90s classic. Loosely based on Jane Austin’s Emma, Clueless is the story of shallow, rich and socially successful Cher. Seeing herself at the top of her Beverly Hills high school’s pecking order, Cher sets about playing matchmaker, first coaxing two teachers into dating each other and then, emboldened by her success, giving hopelessly klutzy new student Tai a makeover. But when Tai becomes more popular than she is, Cher begins to question everything she once held to be important. “As if!” you’re gonna miss this one!

We’ll have themed music and trailers, a signature drink, an introduction and intermission. Dressing up is encouraged, we may not all have Cher’s computerised wardrobe planner but dig out those 90s fashions!
