Covid Passes, what you need to know!

December 15th 2021 Covid19 Guidance Update.

Here we go again, the powers that be, in their infinite wisdom have decreed that not only can Covid19 tell the time, it also knows if you are dancing or not and if we are selling alcohol!

The are no mandatory rules in place for public houses, no Covid Passes, masks are voluntary, no table service, no pre-bookings. So come to Firebug’s downstairs bar and drink and socialise as normal until 4am every night.

However, for any premises which serves alcohol, has a dance floor, with music loud enough to dance and is open 1am onwards, you must have proof of one of the following to gain entry:

• NHS COVID Pass

• Negative PCR or rapid lateral flow test within the last 48 hours

• Medical exemption or clinical trial participation

These new measures ONLY apply if you are attending a club night in our upstairs venue, for simplicity we will be asking for one of the above at the start of any club night, which could, for example, be 11pm. For now, all gigs will be exempt from the rules, as they always finish before 1am.

Throughout the entire pandemic we have done everything we can to keep all our staff, performers and customers safe. We have followed every guideline and law and will continue to do so.

We have also implemented some safety measure which exceed the expectations and requirements of the government and licensing, such as the installation of thousands of pounds worth of UV air scrubbers on both floors, in the public areas and behind the bars.

We still have hand sanitizer available, support your decision to wear a mask and encourage keeping a safe distance wherever possible.

Check back on our website and all our socials for updates to any changes to guidance and you can read the full government guidance here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/nhs-covid-pass

As always love to you all and thank you for understanding our position and continuing to visit Firebug x
